1. Scope and responsibility

FarPoint LLC, doing business as FarPoint Consulting ("FarPoint," "we," "us," or "our"), is responsible for the personal information it collects and uses as described in this policy. This policy covers our public website at www.farpointconsulting.com, inquiries sent to the contact address on the website, and information we receive when you arrange an appointment through our linked scheduling page.

The website is published through Sites using Cloudflare infrastructure. Our contact page provides an email link and a link to a separate Acuity Scheduling page. The email link opens your email application; the scheduling link takes you to Acuity rather than submitting an appointment through a form hosted on this website.

This is a website privacy policy, not a substitute for a client's services agreement, confidentiality agreement, or applicable data-processing terms. Information handled in a client engagement is also subject to the relevant agreement and applicable law. Where we process information on a client's instructions, requests concerning that information should generally be directed to that client; we will assist as our obligations require.

2. Information we receive and its sources

Inquiries and correspondence. When you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send, such as your name, organization, contact details, message, and attachments. We also receive the ordinary delivery information associated with the communication.

Appointments. When you use FarPoint's Acuity Scheduling page, we receive your name, email address, appointment details, and any optional phone number or additional information you provide for the appointment. Acuity processes the information you enter and technical information associated with your use of its scheduling service. Appointment information is also processed through our connected Google Calendar and Google Meet services to manage availability, calendar events, and online meeting links.

Website traffic and technical information. Delivering and protecting the website involves processing technical request and connection information. Our publishing and hosting providers may process information such as your IP address, requested pages or resources, request times, browser or device information transmitted with a request, and technical error or security information. We may receive technical logs or reports made available by those providers. This operational processing is distinct from information you choose to send us.

Please limit an initial inquiry to the information needed to explain your request. Do not send passwords, financial-account credentials, government identification numbers, sensitive personal information, confidential client materials, or legally privileged information unless we have first agreed on an appropriate way to receive it.

3. How we use information

We use inquiry and appointment information to respond to you, discuss the assistance you requested, arrange and administer meetings, and maintain records of our communications. We use technical information to deliver the website, investigate errors, assess reliability and performance, and address security incidents, spam, or misuse. We also use information when necessary to satisfy legal obligations, maintain appropriate business records, and establish or protect legal rights.

We do not use information collected through this website for advertising, creating advertising profiles, or marketing campaigns. Contacting us or arranging a meeting does not enroll you in a marketing mailing list. Replies to an inquiry and communications about your appointment are part of responding to your request.

4. Disclosures and service providers

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use website information for targeted advertising.

Information may be disclosed to the providers supporting the functions described in this policy: the Sites publishing platform and Cloudflare for website delivery and related operations; Squarespace / Acuity Scheduling for appointments; Google Calendar and Google Meet for calendar synchronization and online meetings; and providers supporting our email and business records. The information involved depends on the function—for example, technical traffic information for hosting and contact and appointment information for scheduling.

When a provider processes information on our behalf, that processing is subject to the applicable service terms, data-processing arrangements, and legal requirements. Some providers also determine their own purposes for particular technical or service-related information, including protecting and operating their platforms. We do not represent that every provider processes every category of information solely on our instructions. Information about those providers' practices is available in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy the Squarespace Privacy Policy, which covers Acuity, and Google’s privacy information for Calendar and Meet. Those notices do not replace our responsibility for information under our control.

We may also disclose relevant information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, obtain professional advice concerning a legal matter, investigate misuse, or protect rights and safety. Information may be transferred as part of a business reorganization or sale, subject to applicable law and the privacy commitments governing that information. These provisions do not authorize unrelated advertising uses.

5. Cookies, linked services, and browser privacy settings

Website functionality. Hosting and security services may use cookies, browser storage, or similar technologies to support functionality and protect the website. We do not use this website for advertising or remarketing. Technical processing by hosting and network services can occur even when a browser blocks cookies; blocking cookies does not prevent the transmission of information needed to request a web page.

Acuity and other external links. Choosing the scheduling link opens a separate Acuity page. Its cookies, technical collection, and privacy controls apply when you use that service. Other external links likewise lead to services with their own practices. FarPoint does not direct these providers to track you across unrelated websites for advertising. A provider may nevertheless recognize interactions with its own services across websites as described in its notice. You may email us instead of using Acuity.

Browser controls. You can use your browser settings to manage cookies and stored site data. Blocking necessary functionality may affect a linked service. The legacy "Do Not Track" setting does not change the information-handling practices described in this policy.

Global Privacy Control. Global Privacy Control is distinct from legacy Do Not Track and can communicate an opt-out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted-advertising uses under applicable law. Because FarPoint does not engage in those uses of website information, you do not need to enable that signal to stop them. This statement is not a claim that our website detects every privacy signal, prevents all provider processing, or stops necessary security and delivery operations.

6. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for its purpose, taking account of the nature of the inquiry or relationship, recordkeeping obligations, security needs, and the establishment or defense of legal claims.

Our general practice is to retain information you submit in connection with this website for less than seven years. That is not a minimum retention period: information may be removed sooner when it is no longer needed. A legal obligation or a specific need to preserve records for a dispute or investigation may require longer retention. Technical records maintained by infrastructure providers may have different retention periods under the applicable service arrangements. Contact us with questions about a particular record.

7. Privacy requests and choices

You may ask us to review, correct, or delete personal information you provided by emailing nordick@farpointconsulting.com or writing to the address below. You do not need an account to make a request. Include enough detail for us to locate the relevant correspondence or appointment, but do not send unnecessary sensitive information.

Depending on your location, the nature of the information, and whether the relevant law applies to our processing, you may have additional rights to confirm processing, access information, obtain a portable copy, learn about disclosures to third parties, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, object to or restrict processing, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. Applicable law may also provide rights concerning sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling activities. The availability of these statutory rights is not the same for every visitor or every business interaction.

We will respond as applicable law requires, including applicable deadlines. We may reasonably verify your identity or the authority of someone acting for you before disclosing, changing, or deleting information. Requests may be subject to lawful exceptions, including required recordkeeping and the protection of another person's information. Where we cannot fulfill a request, we will explain the reason as required by law. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

To ask us to reconsider a decision, reply to our response or email the same address, identifying the request and why you believe it should be reconsidered. You may use the subject "Privacy Request Appeal." We will handle any applicable statutory appeal within the required period and provide any required information about further complaint options. You may also raise a concern with the attorney general or privacy regulator for your jurisdiction.

For information a provider processes independently, its privacy notice describes how to contact it. You may still contact FarPoint about information under our control.

8. Security and processing locations

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No website, email service, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please contact us promptly about a suspected issue involving information you sent us.

FarPoint operates in Minnesota, United States. Service-provider infrastructure may process information in the United States and other countries. Applicable protections and legal requirements govern that processing; this policy does not promise storage in a particular country. Merely browsing the website is not a substitute for consent or another safeguard where the law requires one.

9. Children

The website is intended for business and professional audiences, not children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information to us may contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.

10. Changes to this policy

We will post revisions on this page and identify the updated date. For a material change, we will provide additional notice, such as a prominent website notice or direct communication where appropriate, and obtain consent when required. A revision does not by itself authorize a materially different use of previously collected information that would conflict with applicable law or the commitments made when that information was collected.
